A Christmas cocktail that is a deconstructed Christmas pudding and custard using Four Pillars Christmas gin and apple brandy

When Four Pillars first announced the release of their Christmas Gin, we'd be lying if we said we weren't just that little bit excited. After all...Christmas pudding in a gin? Two of our most liked things in one! It's not quite a liqueur if that's what you're thinking - it's still very much a gin but has added Christmas spiciness in it. Think warming cinnamon, cloves that sort of thing all wrapped up in a citrus juniper haze. Whilst it's good to sip, we were scratching around for how to use it when we chanced upon this interview with head distiller Cam Mackenzie and voila, what goes well with Christmas pudding? Brandy custard! So here's our deconstructed Christmas pudding and custard. 

Ingredients

  • 30ml Four Pillars Christmas Gin

  • 15ml Charles Oates apple brandy

  • 10ml port

  • 5ml simple syrup

  • 5ml lemon juice

  • 1 egg yolk

Shake all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into chilled glass. Grate some nutmeg over the top.
