Zero Paloma Cocktail

Brunswick Aces and Strangelove salted grapefruit soda makes for a non-alcoholic twist on the Paloma cocktail

We try our hand at a non-alcoholic cocktail inspired by the tequila based Paloma cocktail, with a bit of Strangelove.

We have to admit, when Strangelove came out with their Salted Grapefruit soda, the first thing we thought of was a Paloma cocktail, because after all, that was what inspired this latest flavour - salt, grapefruit and tequila is like a marriage made in heaven. But for those who are after something non-alcoholic, the spicy flavours of the Brunswick Aces Spades blend struck us as being able to stand up to the salt grapefruit mix as well as being a good partner, and we were not wrong! So give this a try, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Ingredients

  • 60ml Brunswick Aces Spades Blend

  • 100ml Strangelove Salted Grapefruit Soda

  • Barspoon lime oleo saccharum

  • 3-4 drops Mr Bitters pink grapefruit and agave bitter

Combine all ingredients except for the soda in a glass filled with ice. Stir well then top up with the soda.

The ice ball we used in this photo had some cornflowers in the mould when we froze the ice. That is what gives the ice that slight blue tinge
